Varsity vs Decatur Central High School Win Southport boys soccer won against local opponent Decatur Central 4-1 Tuesday evening. The Cardinals got off to a hot start with a goal from Eddy Yes ten minutes into the game off of an assist by senior Tial Nung. Three minutes later they doubled their lead off of a Decatur Central own goal from a dangerous cross by Senior Bawi Thang. Decatur got one back ten minutes later after a silly mistake at the back, but soon after the Cards regained their two goal lead with another goal from Eddy Yes. The Cardinals would finish the scoring for the night with a goal from Solomon Vanbawlian off of a Eddy Yes assist. Second half was a scoreless affair from both teams. Standout players were Sophomore Jafet Hernandez Ortiz and Junior Eddy Yes. The Cardinals will take on local rivals Roncalli at home on Thursday. #WeUsOurs
